130.02 YAFU (mt) Crashes Desktop and halts GPU tasks to run...

Posted 19 Jun 2012 by bill brandt-gasuen Post: Am experiencing the same phoenomena with ubuntu 11.10. My GPU's worked in tandem with YAFU before the break but now YAFU seems to hog the total cpu resources. It's my uneducated guess that since most of my gpu work needs an assist with up to 50% of a single core, they won't initiate and merely stand by until BOINC hands off the resources to another project. I am running an i7 with Ubuntu 11.10, current on updates. As most of my Windows boxes are not presently running YAFU I can't confirm the problems with a Windows OS. |

BOINC messages are variations of the following: 9/5/2011 9:11:41 PM|yafu|Temporarily failed upload of yafu_C91_1315077971_97_3_0: system connect 9/5/2011 9:11:41 PM|yafu|Backing off 2 hr 18 min 33 sec on upload of yafu_C91_1315077971_97_3_0 I believe they all showed complete and transferring over 24 hrs ago but as they are in transfer mode, I am not knowledgeable enough to provide any properties info. They seemed to progress without mishap and finish fine. But website indicates that all five have been assigned status "Timed out - no response". Thought I would contact you and let you know before I push the abort button. |
