I'm trying to get 8t and 16t tasks on http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=11769

I have a 7 day buffer but only enough work in the cache for 5 days, so plenty of room.

I think the issue is your 7 days buffer.
In fact it is not a buffer it is an intervall how often you connect to the internet. If you set it to 7 days you will not get work, because the deadline is only 2 days.
So please set it to 1 day and the additional buffer days to much more.

I now have only 4 WUs active, they will finish in 3 hours or less.

I have buffer set to 1 day with additional set to 7 days.

Next I'll try removing / reattaching.

That didn't work either. Guess I'm not destined to crunch 8t tasks.

The server allows only 4 Wus to be on your host. So this is fine.
The 8t task you get only if you have at least 8 cores available for boinc.
