I am receiving tasks to crunch but the server status page shows the Upload / Download server status as Disabled.

Clearly it is not.

This was just a config issue, fixed now.

Note: I see that a lot on new projects, maybe pass along that the documentation needs to clear up that point so every new project doesn't show the same misleading thing.

in the meantime, can you post or pm how to correct this, so i can at least pass along the tip when i see the next new project.

You must set
path
to the pid file of your httpd.
