Hi it may have been answered here but I couldn't find it, what is exactly the difference between app "YAFU 134.05 (mt)" and app "YAFU-4t 134.05 (4t)" ? I get both of them on my i5 and the WU names are very similar, and I can't find a difference the way they are running : all the core are used, there are phases with 4 threads (ECM or <something else>) and phases where yafu.exe is running 4 cores, or only 1... (or maybe I didn't look close enough and I got confused ?) Thanks |

The difference between all apps is that they run composites with different length: - yafu small, requires at least 2 cores runs composites up to C109 - yafu, requires at least 2 cores runs composites up to C124 - yafu-4t, requires exactly 4 cores runs composites up to C129 - yafu-8t, requires exactly 8 cores runs composites up to C134 - yafu-16t, requires at least 16 cores runs composites up to C139 - yafu-32t, requires at least 32 cores runs composites up to C144 In the wu name is a _Cxxx_ part which tells the length of the composite. Yafu tries different methods to factor a composite. For this it also invokes external commands as ecm or gnfs and some parts are done by yafu.exe itself. There are also some phases which can be done only single threaded. |

Yoyo, thanks for this info, very helpful. BTW, do you want us to tell you when WUs are running overtime? I have one that's going overtime now but still updating so I know it's progressing (so far 47.9 hours). The one behind it hasn't started but will be overtime in a few minutes. It's not a slow machine either. Edit: They both just finished. The 2nd one was very short. Still though do you want us to let you know about overtime WUs if they're still updating? |

I'm interested only if they are 2 or more days over the deadline. |

Thanks, sorry for all the questions. Trying to learn how Yafu works as it's a little different than most projects. I'm liking it. |

The difference between all apps is that they run composites with different length: Maybe update this table. In the last few days I've had 16t WUs up to C143. Here's one for example: name yafu_ali_25968_L145_C143_1518767418_57 application YAFU-16t created 16 Feb 2018, 7:51:22 UTC canonical result 1889137 |

The table is basically correct. But sometimes I move workunits around if the queue for a app has too much unsent workunits and the queue below is nearly empty. So, I moved unsents from 16t -> 8t and 32t -> 16t. |
