I realise that you guys probably have a lot more important things to do than bother with this, but this is a little bit frustrating for me, and perhaps there might be others who would feel so. I decide to get back into some 8t's the other day. My preferences clearly has YAFU-4 sub-projects turned off, as is the "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?". So I was pleased when some 8t tasks appeared and I started crunching. I was a little horrified to find that once the first 2 were finished, for which I got 5572.12 and 10.31 stones, that the credit for the 5572.12 had gone to the 4t Subproject rather than the 8t! Thereby losing me my a Bok and a Nebber on Free-DC, something which I take quite seriously - I know it's just fun but it helps keep me going as a boincer! - hence my decision to re-start on 8t's and go for the 2.5 million in the first place. I have screeenshots that show the tasks are 8t's and screenshots that show the error is on YAFUs side and not Free-DCs. So if someone could possibly check this out to prevent it happening to someone else - and possibly switch the 5572.12 credit from the 4t to the 8t where I - and common sense - believe it rightly belongs, I would be grateful and will of course continue with 8t's which are currently on hold because I can't trust what will happen. The Task is 8118388 http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/result.php?resultid=8118388 which clearly shows it's an 8t, yet when I look at the work unit 6889971 http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/workunit.php?wuid=6889971 it shows an application of 4t but the list at the bottom shows the application is YAFU-8t v134.05 (8t) windows_x86_64 Bit weird, and a bit trivial to the vast majority, and even to just about everyone who doesn't play with MM's on Free-DC, nut it would be nice if it were sorted. Thank you for taking the time to read this. |

Your result an workunit has gone, not possible to check. In the last days I moved some of the unsent 8t to 4t, because this queue was empty. So maybe you were running a 4t because at wu fetch time the 8t queue was empty. yoyo . |

Not really the answer I was looking for. :-( As I said I have screenshots of the task, so it is possible to check if you don't believe me - let me know where to send them and I will. And I know my settings barred 4t's, I've been doing this long enough to know - I did not make a mistake. On the contrary, your comments about moving tasks from 8t to 4t sound a bit more likely to be the cause. All I am asking is that you move 5572.12 from from my 4t total to my 8t total. Probably be quicker than responding to this email. PLEASE. And then I can get back on with those 8t's. |

Mark posted... ... your comments about moving tasks from 8t to 4t sound a bit more likely to be the cause... yoyo, following on from your last PM to me that said: Only unsent workunits are moved from 16T to 32T and afterwards they are handled as 32T. So you don't get them if you have 32T disabled or if you don't have 32 cores. Given these facts: I only had 16T selected in my preferences for the venue I do not accept work from other applications if 16T not available The number of CPUs for the client was set at 16 by the client (cc_config.xml) Why was workunit 7665827 showing as 16T and 32T ? The task details show it as 16T It got credited as a 32T task (have a screenshot for that too). Given all the facts how did I get credit for a 32T task when I'm only doing 16T and cannot get 32T with the settings I had ? |
