why this big difference in credits?

The default CreditNew is used here, probably the main reason for the difference as it does not work very well

I still don't understand why projects keep using CreditNew, it's been a pain since it has been created ...

Because it's the default meaning it's built-in into the Server side version of Boinc. to change it one Admin, not from here, said there were like 3 places in the software to change it. He said it was not as easy as it sounds!!

The last post was from May.

But what credit do you assign when some tasks take 2 seconds while the next can take several days? Fixed would not be fair so how does a project calculate the work done? CreditNew. For projects with variable run times it's the only real option.
