24/04/2017 05:57:55 | yafu | Scheduler request failed: Error 408

Please fix it and make sure credit is awarded. My WUs are due today and have been trying to upload for several days that I'm aware of.

Thanks.

Make that weeks. Can't we even muster the courtesy of a reply around here any more? Is this another project with no one at the helm?

Very sad.

Error 408 is a client error (your end) not a server error (Yafu end) nothing the project Admin can do about it.

D.1.9 Failure website-error http-request-timeout (408)
The client did not produce a request within the time that the server was prepared to wait. The client may repeat the request without modifications at any later time.

Is your host heavily loaded and not able to complete the transfer in time or do you have a very slow internet connection?

I've not had any problems uploading tasks recently and not had the problem so I don't know what else to suggest?

Well, that's progress, at least. No, none of the above. If that's the case what can I do about it? There is nothing in the transfer window and no action available on the tasks to send them. Is it possible to force them to upload, somehow?

This seems to be where the trouble lies:

13/05/2017 11:43:42 | | [http] [ID#0] Info: ALPN, server did not agree to a protocol

I edited some files and changed http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/ to use https, restarted and they went, or disappeared, anyway. What is the correct protocol, these days? I would have assumed https but something seems to think otherwise as I also got the "your client is using an outdated URL. When convenient, please remove and reconnect to http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/" message. I've switched back for now, anyway.

Looking at my task list, it's not clear whether they were just deleted or uploaded. I'll check again later as it may not have updated, yet.

It's not uncommon for a task to upload the data but remain in the tasks list. I've seen this in a few projects.
You can try doing a suspend/resume of the project, sometimes that will jump start it. Otherwise, you may have
to reset the project - This method will, however, delete all files and tasks for the project and download new ones.
So, use the reset as a last resort.

Personally, I've had to do this for Seti once or twice over the years.

Good Luck!

Thanks. I've reset, added, removed the project and everything else. It refuses to work at all. I haven't been able to upload for months, now.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?? I've now removed the project completely, deleted all traces of yafu files and added it again and it STILL refuses to work. This after numerous removes, adds, file edits, protocol changes, resets, you name it. I fail to see how there's anything wrong at this end. My other machine has no problem. I'm completely fed up with the dozens of wasted hours crunching work for this project which I can't upload.

Would some admin here please help and tell me what needs to be done. My next step is to dump this project completely and that would be a shame after all these years.

Thanks.

Hi,

- what does the boinc message log says?
- Can you connect to the project, can you download workunits?
- From which IP does your upload is not working and from which IP is it working?
